CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAYS: Steps Ahead is closed after classes on Dec 12th. We wish you all a safe and happy holiday season.

Classes resume on Monday Jan 4th.

DANCE JACKETS: We are anticipating the arrival of completed jackets sometime next week. I realize your jacket may be a Christmas gift, and will therefore make them available for pick up once delivery is confirmed. Apologies for the delay in this order.

HST ALERT: The Prime Minister of Canada and the Premier of British Columbia have announced a new sales tax structure called HST.

At this time it appears that an additional tax will be imposed on dance instruction provided to children.

All payments to Steps Ahead, including post-dated cheques, would have to increase at the time the tax is imposed. Expected effective date is July 1, 2010

The schedule for the RAD Ballet Exams – Dec 9th and 10th is now availalbe at the studio. Please be at the green room 45 mins prior to your exam start time. Remember: no jewelry, make-up, tatoos etc! and a clean uniform and are shoes required. Bring your hair supplies and we will be happy to help with a perfect bun if you need assistance!

Please be aware that everyone is welcome to come and observe all regluar dance classes the week of Monday November 23rd to Saturday Nov 28th incl. The ballet students will be excited to show their syllabus work prior to examinations/presentations in early December, and the modern and tap students will be happy to share with you what they have learned so far. We look forward to seeing you at the studio!

As is customary, we are collecting change to donate to the Mill Bay Food Bank prior to the festive season. Any donations will be gratefully received. A collection jar will be available at the studio between Thanksgiving and December 13th. Giving back to the community is something Steps Ahead is proud to do!

Classes resume Monday September 14th – we are looking forward to seeing you all again soon! If you have not yet registered – please print the form and mail to Box 101, Mill Bay, V0R 2P0. If you have already received your invoice – it is preferable to mail cheques rather than bringing them to class – we prefer to spend the valuable time with the students – dancing – rather than dealing with paperwork at the studio. Thank you to each and every dancer. You worked with dedication and danced with passion. Your performance was wonderful! Putting together a production like this is an exhilarating experience. From the early planning stages to the final curtain – we love it all, and we love you all!

As the dance year draws to a close, I thought I would ‘tidy up’ the home page and fill you all in on some ‘housekeeping’ issues. The Lost and Found bin is ‘exploding’! Please take a quick look during this last week of class – we simply do not have room to accommodate these lost items. They will be donated to the Salvation Army after we close on Saturday May 30th. If you have not registered for next year and are planning on dancing PLEASE print your registration form and mail in asap. Once you are registered, you will receive an invoice for tuition for the upcoming year, a calender for 09/10 and an OFFICIAL RECEIPT FOR 2009. Summer School will begin at 9am on July 6th. If you are unsure of the schedule (or have any questions regarding next year) – check the notice board or call Dulcie (250) 7010203. DVD’s of the show will be available to pick up July 6th – 10th in the Green Room. Enjoy the sun!
