Volunteers for Performing @ Home
Results of last year’s survey show that you have some concerns about the running of back-stage and dressing rooms.
We are always looking of ways to improve our service and product and are happy to let you know the faculty will be running the majority of aspects back stage at Performing @ Home XVI.
Stage managing, loading dancers on stage, and green room sign-in are areas the faculty will be taking over this season. The teachers will be calling dancers to the back hallway, loading them backstage, and escorting them back to dressing rooms when necessary.
This does not mean we don’t need you!
We are looking for volunteers to supervise each class group as they wait in their specified areas.
Parent volunteers will also come back stage to assist (with the very young classes only).
The younger classes require two or three supervisors, while the older groups only one. Each Volunteer is only responsible for One Act (e.g. Arrival, Act 1 through to Intermission or Intermission, Act 2 and pick up)
We have four occasions where we are looking for mothers to volunteer (sorry Dad’s – as there are many female dancers changing, we cannot have you in the dressing room areas).
If you are interested in volunteering one or more of the dates – please add your name to this google docx:

Broadway – Monday 6.15pm – Foote Centre
Dancers aged 9 and up
‘Broadway’ is a class where time will be used to discuss, observe and attempt combos from a number of different Musicals. Education on staple names in the Musical Theatre world e.g. Andrew Lloyd Webber, Fosse, Agnes de Mille and Michael Bennett will be included. The student will learn what those people brought to Broadway and where we can recognize their signature styles in our own syllabus’ and choreography. ‘Broadway’ will allow dancers to gain a strong sense of performance, showmanship, and teamwork, all the while having a great deal of fun.
Please note two costumes will be required for this course, however, every effort will be made to keep the cost down.
One costume fee will be paid with a possible remaining balance due in April.
Acro – Tuesday 4.30pm – Bunch Studio
Dancers aged 9 and up
Created by a successful studio owner with decades of experience, the Acrobatic Arts program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of AcroDance:
Developed with input from professionals and experts in all styles of dance, physiotherapy, hand balancing and more, you will not find a more comprehensive program.
Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and summersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage!
Dancers who train through Acrobatic Arts have balanced development, are stronger, more flexible and fearless. Studios that implement this program will see dancers with more skills, who have fewer accidents, and are less likely to develop chronic injuries.
